Partnership with Primaries

Woodside High School trains students for the ‘Young Leadership Award’ both within Maths and Sports, where training involves current students planning and leading activities in the local primary schools.  This is a wonderful opportunity for current students to enhance their management skills and gives prospective students the chance to meet current ones and enquire about any concerns they may have. Contact with primary schools has always been of great importance to us in ensuring a smooth transition for the pupils. We offer specific Business and Enterprise programmes to primaries.  We also hold taster days for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils to ensure they feel comfortable with the surroundings and gain an idea of what to expect when moving up.  The taster days offer taster lessons and the opportunity to meet other students.  Our Year 11 peer coaches also work with these pupils to ensure they feel at ease and confident with the transition.
